Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani called for an effective position and role for major countries influential in the UN Security Council, to force the occupying entity to stop its war and crimes it is committing. The Prime Minister's media office stated: "Al-Sudani met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Al-Brus Kutrashev." It explained that during the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and ways to develop them, based on the mutual desire to expand the horizons of joint cooperation, and continue cooperation in various economic, commercial and cultural fields, in a way that serves the interests of the Iraqi and Russian peoples. He pointed out that the meeting addressed developments in the region, the continuation of the occupying entity's sinful aggression against the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples, and its unacceptable transgressions by insulting the position of the supreme authority in Najaf, which affects the feelings of millions of Muslim s in the world, and confirms its racist and religious motives in its aggressive war against Gaza and Lebanon and its efforts to mislead and obscure, contrary to what some are promoting about the existence of political roots for the conflict. The Prime Minister called for an effective position and role for the major influential countries in the UN Security Council, to force the occupying entity to stop its war and crimes, and to stop its efforts to push the region towards a comprehensive war that would threaten the security of the world and its interests in the region.
