A statement from the Prime Minister's Office stated: "Al-Sudani received today, Saturday, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Omar Ahmed Mohammed, and members of its council. The meeting witnessed a discussion of the Commission's ongoing preparations and its preparations to hold the elections for the Kurdistan Region Parliament (sixth session), on October 20, and to complete all necessary procedures to establish this important democratic practice."
