The Secretary-General of the Generations Gathering, MP Muhammad Saadoun Al-Sayhoud, called on the political forces to resolve the election session for the Speaker of Parliament so that he can assume his actual supervisory and legislative role. Al-Sayhoud said in a press statement today that: 'We strongly support holding the session to elect the Speaker of Parliament, which has been scheduled for next Saturday, in order to end the controversy over it, as well as for Parliament to begin its actual work tasks in proportion to the magnitude of the challenges that the country is experiencing, especially with regard to legislation and oversight.' He added: 'The Sunni political forces have candidates with respect to their progress and determination, and therefore the election of the candidate for the presidency of Parliament must be expedited and the work must be done in person, because the current situation cannot bear more complications.
