Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, Minister of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced today, Saturday, the expulsion of Abbas al-Kufi from the movement 'on charges of corruption.' Al-Sadr's Minister said in a statement, "We know that the corrupt (Abbas al-Kufi) has been expelled on charges of treason and corruption, and it is strictly forbidden to deal with him in all commercial, financial, or other transactions at all." He added, "Despite this, we call on him to repent and isolate himself, and we also call on everyone not to deal with him with violence or anything similar." It is noteworthy that Abbas Al-Kufi's name was linked to the resignation of the Minister of Electricity of the previous government headed by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, Majid Hantoush, when a letter addressed to Al-Sadr was attributed to him in which he spoke about Abbas Al-Kufi's interference in the ministry's work, before Hantoush later denied the authenticity of the letter.
