Doha, September 13 (QNA) - Al Rayyan Club announced today the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Paulo Victor, who will join the first football team for one season. The club issued a statement on its official website confirming that the new goalkeeper will be a valuable addition to the team as they participate in the inaugural edition of the AFC Elite Champions League. Al Rayyan will kick off their campaign by hosting Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal next Tuesday at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Doha. Victor, 37, had an impressive spell with Saudi Arabia's Al-Ettifaq over the past two seasons, during which he played 64 matches. Prior to that, he played for Brazil's Gremio and Flamengo clubs. Al Rayyan has recently bolstered its squad by signing Egypt's Mohamed Hassan (Trezeguet), Morocco's Ashraf Ben Sharqi, and Palestinian defender Mohamed Saleh. The team also received a morale boost ahead of their match against Al Hilal after securing their second victory in the QNB Stars League, defeating Al Shahaniya 4-2 today in the opening match of week 4.
