Acting Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandlawi stressed that Iraq's security is inseparable from the security of the region and that armament capabilities must be developed by purchasing advanced defense systems. The media office of the Acting Speaker of Parliament stated in a statement: "Al-Mandlawi met in his office today with the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, in the presence of a number of representatives, to discuss the security situation throughout the country, and the recent developments witnessed by the region, as well as the plan to secure the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein "peace be upon him". Al-Mandlawi stressed the need to take precautionary measures to achieve stability in all governorates, especially areas where security breaches are repeated, by redistributing military units and launching preemptive campaigns to cleanse them of dormant cells, while stating that: 'The security and stability of the country is affected by the events and developments t aking place in the region and is inseparable from regional security, and this requires developing a comprehensive vision to confront internal and external risks, by developing the army's capabilities in the fields of training, armament and equipment, and paying attention to purchasing advanced defense systems to preserve the country's sovereignty, security and stability.
