Baghdad, Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and Chairman of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, stressed today, Thursday, the importance of ensuring media freedom and enabling media institutions to perform their duties professionally and objectively. A statement from his media office stated that Al-Mandalawi received the Chairman of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, in the presence of the Advisor to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Batoul Muwafaq, in a meeting that focused on enhancing joint cooperation to support media institutions in Iraq. According to the statement, the two sides stressed the importance of ensuring media freedom and enabling media institutions to perform their duties professionally and objectively, thus contributing to building a democratic and informed society. The meeting discussed ways to support the families of martyrs and wounded media professionals who made great sacrifices in covering the ba ttles to liberate the country from the terrorist organization ISIS, in appreciation of their heroic role in conveying the truth.
