Head of the State of Law Coalition Nouri al-Maliki stressed that elections are a sacred and constitutional entitlement and duty, on the basis of which the state is built and its pillars are established. Al-Maliki said in a statement that elections are a right and a duty for the people and are the basis on which the political process is based in all its details. He added that the citizen has a duty to be an active and positive part in the process of building the state and establishing the pillars of the political process. He stressed that elections are the means and mechanism through which the nation exercises its role and selects those who deserve to be its representatives. He said that the media has a fundamental role in encouraging people to participate in the elections and urging them to participate actively in them and update their cards.
