Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, met in his office in Baghdad today, Sunday, with the Russian Ambassador, Elbrus Kotrashev. A statement by Al-Khazali's office said that the two sides reviewed the most important political and security developments in the region, and ways to enhance bilateral relations between Baghdad and Moscow in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and the two friendly peoples." The two sides discussed "the developments in the situation in Gaza, and the necessity of stopping the genocide operations there, as well as the developments in the situation in Ukraine, and the Russian project to stop the war and establish peace." The Russian Ambassador indicated that "the stability of the security situation and the continuous urban progress in Iraq reflect the strength of the state and its ability to confront internal and external challenges.
