National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji discussed bilateral relations and regional situations with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Baghdad Nasir Mammadov. The meeting, according to a statement by the advisory, reviewed the development of the security situation in the region, especially what is happening on the Palestinian and Lebanese arenas and their repercussions. Bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of continuing cooperation at all levels were also discussed. Al-Araji stressed the utmost importance of the international community taking all means to pressure Israel to stop the ongoing war and prevent its expansion. For his part, the Ambassador confirmed that Azerbaijan has begun providing aid to the Palestinian people since 2009, and the Azerbaijani government has built a number of schools there, calling for the Palestinians to have a state with Al-Quds as its capital.
