After visiting China and Russia and meeting their foreign ministers, the Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee, headed by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, traveled to the United Kingdom where it held an official meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron. In addition to the Saudi foreign minister, the committee members include Foreign Minister Riyad Malki, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Maitama Togar, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The members of the Ministerial Committee stressed the importance of members of the Security Council and the international community taking effective and urgent measures for a complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing that this is a priority for all Arab and Islamic countries.
