The Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council has received the self-evaluation study and supporting documents for the medicine and general surgery program at Hodeida University. During the handover, Hussein Hazeb, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, praised the university's efforts to achieve academic accreditation despite significant challenges, including the destruction of approximately 85% of its infrastructure due to US-Saudi aggression. Hazeb highlighted the dedication of the university's leadership and staff and assured continued support and technical assistance for the accreditation process. Dr. Ahmed al-Haboub, Chairman of the Accreditation Council, emphasized the importance of thoroughly reviewing the self-evaluation and supporting materials to assess the university's adherence to accreditation standards. The review is crucial for granting national academic accreditation to the medicine and surgery program. Dr. Mohammed Daif Allah, Secretary-General of the Council, no ted that the receipt of these documents is part of an agreement to provide technical and advisory support to Hodeida University, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. Dr. Mohammed al-Ahdal, Rector of Hodeida University, expressed gratitude for the support from the Ministry and the Accreditation Council. Al-Ahdal underscored the university's commitment to its mission, even amidst difficulties, and detailed efforts to upgrade equipment, laboratories, and clinical education facilities.
