Amman: The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) reported that exports of goods and commodities registered with the chamber, based on certificates of origin issued, reached JD566 million in the first five months of 2024. According to statistical data from the Chamber, the number of certificates of origin issued increased by 1 percent during this period, totaling 12,583 certificates compared to 12,467 in the same period last year. These certificates of origin were primarily issued for exports to several countries. Saudi Arabia topped the list with 2,752 certificates, followed by the UAE with 1,535, Iraq with 943, Egypt with 406, and Switzerland with 14 certificates. The Chamber's monthly statistical data revealed that in terms of export value, Iraq led with JD260 million, followed by Switzerland with approximately JD50 million. The UAE and Egypt each accounted for JD42 million, and Saudi Arabia totaled JD36 million. The Chamber's exports comprised various categories, including foreign products (re-exports) value d at around JD286 million, industrial products at JD100 million, agricultural products at about JD56 million, and Arab products at JD43 million. The remaining exports were categorized as other products. The Chamber issues certificates of origin for agricultural and animal products, raw Jordanian natural resources, foreign goods that are re-exported, and foreign goods purchased from the local market, all under specific conditions. Additionally, the Chamber issues certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial products upon the exporter's request, based on the original factory invoice certified by an industrial chamber, and an original, duly certified certificate of origin proving the goods are of Jordanian origin.
