A smuggler killed, another one injured and arrested after clashing with them on the border in Diyala

The Ministry of Interior announced the killing of a smuggler, the injury of another one and his arrest after clashing with them on the border in Diyala. The Ministry stated in a statement: the detachments of the Second Regiment of the Eighth Border Brigade holding the border strip within Diyala Governorate were able to kill a smuggler, injure another and arrest him after clashing with them after they attempted to smuggle (2) weapons with two ammunition boxes. It added that in Maysan, the detachments of the Third Regiment of the Tenth Border Brigade were able to thwart a smuggling attempt after clashing with two smugglers, wounding one of them, arresting him, and seizing (12) Kalashnikov rifles in their possession. It explained that through initial investigations, it became clear that those smugglers hold foreign nationality.
