Rusafa Police Command announced today, Friday, the arrest of a person who wanted to kill his wife in the capital. The Police Command said in a statement, "Its detachments, represented by (Baghdad Rusafa 2nd Emergency Regiment), arrested a person in his possession of an unlicensed weapon, a Kalashnikov rifle, within the area of responsibility," indicating that "the accused wanted to kill his wife after a dispute between them, as he threatened to kill her by phone." It added that "an ambush was set up for him and he was arrested before he entered the house with the weapon in his possession," stressing that "he was handed over to the police station in accordance with the law.
