Baghdad Operations Command announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of a number of suspects and the seizure of a "pile of explosive materials" south of the capital. The command stated in a statement that "the units of the "17th" Infantry Division and the attached units carried out preemptive operations to search and inspect the regions, armed reconnaissance and set up "temporary" surprise checkpoints within areas south of the capital" which resulted in "the arrest of a number of suspects according to various legal articles, and the seizure of a pile of explosive materials "war remnants of the defeated ISIS terrorist gangs."
