Baghdad Operations Command arrested a gang specialized in kidnapping and extortion operations in Al-Saydiyah area in Baghdad. The command stated in a statement: "After receiving accurate information indicating the presence of a suspicious apartment inside which a gang practices kidnapping and extortion, a joint task force was immediately formed from the Seventh Baghdad Emergency Regiment / Karkh/ Police Command, with high-level intelligence support, and the place was surrounded, the apartment was raided, and "seven" suspects were arrested, including a "woman" and two others holding foreign citizenship, and a girl detained in it was freed, with the seizure of a Kalashnikov rifle and its ammunition and two hand grenades in "Al-Saydiyah" area, Al-Karkh." It added: "The suspects and the seized items were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
