A delegation from the Federal Ministry of Justice visited, today, Saturday, the Kurdistan Region, to develop a joint working paper to determine the mechanism for transferring expertise in the field of legal and correctional dealings. The Ministry of Justice stated, in a statement, that 'a delegation headed by Muhammad Radhi Bahr, Director General of the Juvenile Correction Department of the Federal Ministry of Justice, visited the Kurdistan Region, where he met with the President of the Erbil Court of Appeal, Judge Raed Hamid Hussein, and the Director General of the Social Reform Department in the region, noting that the visit came with the aim of developing a joint working paper to determine the mechanism for transferring expertise in the field of legal and correctional dealing with juvenile detainees, in a way that will reflect positively on the reform process between the two parties, in line with applicable laws and instructions.' According to the statement, the two sides expressed 'a great consensus in visions and ideas, as both the President of the Erbil Court of Appeal and the Director-General of the Social Reform Department welcomed the visit, which was the first of its kind,' stressing 'the necessity of continuing these visits to enhance cooperation and develop the reform process.' Bahr pointed out that "this visit represents an important step in strengthening relations between the Federal Ministry of Justice and reform institutions in the Kurdistan region," stressing "the importance of exchanging experiences and continuous cooperation to achieve common goals in the field of social and legal reform."
