Federal Police forces arrested 8 defendants accused of various legal matters in Baghdad and seized two explosive devices in the Makishifa area in the city of Samarra. The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement: 'The security effort of the Federal Police units, with the support of the intelligence effort, resulted in the arrest of 8 defendants accused of legal matters that included (forgery, not carrying identification papers, a quarrel, execution, and trespassing on the force executing the duty) in the areas (Al-Doura, Al-Adl District, Al-Shuhadaa District, Al-Hamidiyah) in Baghdad, Al-Askari District in Al-Musayyab District in Babylon Governorate, and Al-Kart District on Makishifa Island in Samarra. It added: 'it seized (3 different types of rifles, a pistol, 3 stores, and 50 rounds of ammunition).' It continued: 'A force from the 13th Brigade, 4th Division of the Federal Police found, during a security operation, two explosive devices in the (Makishifa) area in Samarra, and the accused were refer red along with the seized items to the competent authorities to complete the legal and investigative procedures against them.'
