Eight institutes affiliated with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) joined the European Training Foundation (ETF) as part of its comprehensive plan aimed at developing the Kingdom's vocational training system, the corporation announced. In a statement to "Petra," VTC Director General, Dr. Ahmad Gharaibeh, said the institutes' achievement contributes "significantly" to prepare "qualified" workers to keep pace with requirements of the local and global labor market, especially in professions related to the future of economy and technology. Gharaibeh added that the corporation seeks to accredit 3 other institutes in the coming period, under the ETF's umbrella, aimed to provide support to developing countries to modernize the vocational training system and analyze labor markets' needs. During the current year, Gharaibeh said the VTC worked on multiple projects and initiatives and signed an agreement to establish the Modern Agricultural Technology Institute at Ministry of Agriculture. The VTC also worked on implementing Agriculture Resilience, Value Chain Development, and Innovation (ARDI) Program for Jordan, which includes hydroponics, fish farming, and other "advanced" agricultural skills, from which benefited 1,976 trainees, he pointed out.
