The Intelligence and Security Directorate announced today, Friday, the arrest of (8) drug dealers in Baghdad, Basra and Najaf. A statement by the Directorate stated that "with painful and successive strikes against organized crime gangs and drug dealers, and with precise intelligence efforts, the detachments of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense were able to arrest (8) of the most dangerous drug dealers and promoters in the governorates of (Baghdad, Basra, Najaf)." It added that "arrest warrants were issued against the accused in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) of the Narcotics Law, and various narcotic substances and drug paraphernalia were seized in their possession, in addition to light weapons. The substances were confiscated and the accused were referred to the competent authorities. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
