The General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs announced the death sentence against (72) international drug dealers in 2024. The Directorate stated in a statement that by the orders of the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, within the deterrent measures for combating drugs and by judicial decisions issued by men of law and justice and under the personal and direct supervision of the Minister of Interior, the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs carried out preemptive security intelligence operations headed by the Director General of the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs and its detachment, which resulted in the overthrow of (72) international drug dealers who were sentenced to death during 2024 in accordance with the provisions of Article (27) of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. (50) of 2017.
