Sixty newly certified public accountants took their legal oaths on Tuesday at the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment, marking a significant milestone for Yemen's accounting profession. The ceremony was presided over by Minister Eng. Moeen al-Mahaqeri, who congratulated the new accountants and underscored their vital role in upholding professional and ethical standards. Al-Mahaqeri emphasized that their work is crucial for maintaining the integrity of Yemen's national economy and fostering a transparent relationship between the private sector and government institutions. He also highlighted the importance of this new cohort coinciding with the government's transition towards reform and institutional advancement. He urged the accountants to uphold professionalism and impartiality in their work. The Minister expressed gratitude to the Certified Public Accountants Licensing Committee for its rigorous standards and procedures, ensuring that the new accountants meet international and legal requirement s. He also emphasized the ministry's commitment to collaborating with the Association of Certified Public Accountants to enhance the profession. Chairman of the Association Amin Al-Shami and Director General of the Organization of the Auditing and Auditing Profession Adel Qatina, both highlighted the importance of integrity and neutrality in accounting, stressing that these principles are essential for supporting economic and social development in Yemen.
