A 5.5-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Tonga on Wednesday. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred 161 km northwest of Fangale?ounga, at a depth of 232 km. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far Tonga is an archipelago with 176 islands scattered in the South Pacific, of which only 52 inhabited. It is located in northwest of New Zealand and Australia. Source: Qatar News Agency
