An earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Vanuatu on Monday. The earthquake occurred 49 km from the town of Isangel at a depth of 8.3 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said in a statement. There have been no reports of human losses or material damage resulting from the earthquake. Vanuatu is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean.
