An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday the US state of Alaska. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 268 km southwest of Adak Island, at a depth of 35 km, the US Geological Survey reported. Alaska is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area where tectonic plates meet, and the friction of which leads to strong seismic and volcanic activity. Source: Qatar News Agency
