Turkiye on Monday announced the discovery of a 3,500-year-old archaeological tablet, during excavation and restoration work at "Tell Atchana," known as "Alalakh," in the Reyhanli region of Hatay province, south of the country. The tablet, which was found during restoration operations after the two earthquakes in February 2023 within the scope of excavations in Tell Atchana, sheds light on the era in which Akkadian cuneiform writing existed. In a post on the X platform, Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said that according to the first readings, the Akkadian cuneiform tablet dating back to the 15th century BC contains records of large quantities of furniture purchases.
