Three paramedics were killed and two others were injured in an Israeli raid that targeted a fire truck belonging to the Civil Defense in southern Lebanon today, Saturday. The official Lebanese National News Agency said, "An Israeli raid targeted a fire truck belonging to the Lebanese Civil Defense in the town of Froun in the south of the country, which led to the death and injury of a number of members of the fire truck crew. For its part, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Health, said in a statement: "The initial toll of the Israeli enemy targeting a team affiliated with the Civil Defense that was extinguishing fires sparked by the recent Israeli raids in the town of Froun, is the martyrdom of 3 paramedics and the injury of 2 others, one of whom is in critical condition." The Operations Center added in its statement: "We condemn this blatant Israeli attack that targeted a team in an official apparatus affiliated with the Lebanese state, noting that it i s the second of its kind against an ambulance team in less than 12 hours." It added: "The insistence of the Israeli enemy on continuing such attacks prohibited by international law is nothing but confirmation of its barbarism and aggressive intentions that leave no room for the accomplishment of humanitarian tasks that are usually made possible in the fiercest and most brutal wars."
