Three children died, including a 10-month-old girl, after a house fire broke out in Sydney early Sunday, in an incident considered by Australian police as a murder. The police said, in a statement, that emergency services were called to the house located in Lalor Park, about 35 km west of downtown Sydney, and that two boys, one aged two and the other four, were treated at the scene, but they died shortly after they were transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, a 10-month-old baby girl was found dead after the fire was extinguished. A 28-year-old man, who tried to prevent the police from entering the house, was arrested and is being treated for injuries resulting from the fire in a hospital under police guard, the police added. The police said that four other children, between the ages of 6 and 11 years old, are in stable condition in the hospital, in addition to the children's 29-year-old mother, who is receiving treatment for smoke inhalation.
