At least two people were killed and 14 others were injured in a shooting that occurred during a party in the city of Memphis, in the US State of Tennessee. Local police said in a statement that three of the injured were taken to hospitals in critical condition, while 11 others arrived at emergency departments in private cars. The party which was attended by approximately 200 to 300 people was held without a permit, police explained. The US witnesses frequent shooting incidents with various motives. The issue of the spread of weapons among the population is considered one of the most controversial issues in the country, prompting US President Joe Biden to approve a draft law prepared by Republican and Democratic legislators to set controls on gun possession in June 2022.
