The director of Safwan district, west of Basra, Talib Khalil Al-Husuna, announced the establishment of a city for visitors and a residential complex for needy families with all its services in the district, and another city for visitors in the border Shalamjah area.
Al-Husuna told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "based on the directives of the legal guardian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, and in coordination with the Governor of Basra, we discussed with the representative of the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein in Basra Governorate a set of important files, the most important of which is the recent directive to establish a city for visitors in Safwan district and another in Shalamjah" Pointing out that "the meeting was attended by the director of the municipality of Safwan in order to resolve the allocation of the plot of land for the construction of this important project.
He added, "The start of the procedures for allocating land for the establishment of a residential complex for needy families with all its services was discussed by the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in the city of Safwan.
He drew attention to discussing the procedures for receiving and handing over Safwan desalination plant, in order to resume its operation by the staff of the Maintenance Department of the Holy Hussein Shrine./ End
