TAIZ - SABA: Taiz province on Monday marked the launch of the 18th phase of the unconditional cash transfer project for beneficiaries of the Social Welfare Fund in the province. This initiative is funded by the World Bank through UNICEF and the Social Fund for Development. During the launch, Abdulwasie al-Shamsi, Taiz undersecretary for Development Affairs received a briefing from Najib al-Asbahi, the Director of the Social Welfare Fund in Taiz. Al-Asbahi outlined the disbursement mechanism for beneficiaries, highlighting the facilities available through 95 fixed centers and 10 mobile centers across seven directorates, encompassing a total of 978 sites, including villages and shops. He noted that the number of beneficiaries for this cash transfer phase is 83,454, with each beneficiary receiving a one-time increase of 50 percent. Al-Asbahi emphasized that the fund would monitor the disbursement process to address any challenges beneficiaries might encounter. The cash transfer disbursement will continue f or 22 days at all fixed and mobile sites within the seven directorates of the governorate. During the inauguration, Undersecretary al-Shamsi underscored the importance of facilitating disbursement procedures and resolving any issues to enable beneficiaries to easily access their rights. He commended the efforts of partners in improving citizens' living conditions and alleviating their hardships, particularly amid the ongoing conflict and blockade. The Undersecretary also pointed out the local authority's commitment to overcoming challenges faced by relevant agencies to ensure the successful execution of their responsibilities, urging everyone to cooperate with field teams in the disbursement of beneficiaries' rights.
