The Public Security Directorate (PSD), in cooperation with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), has equipped 10 security centers in the Kingdom's various governorates to enable people with disabilities to obtain all services. According to a statement Thursday, the HCD said the decision comes within the PSD'S efforts aimed at improving the system of security and humanitarian services provided to all citizens. The council noted these centers reflect the "strategic" HCD-PSD partnership and come within the framework of their memorandum of understanding, aimed at enhancing the rights of people with disabilities. The council added that those rights seek to provide a service to summon sign language interpreters in investigation sessions if a specific party is deaf, and offer suitable vehicles to transport detainees and convicts with disabilities. The council added that these centers will also enhance access to information for people with disabilities by converting the PSD's publi cations and awareness leaflets into accessible formats to understand their contents and provide investigation reports in convenient formats for the target groups.
