The Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) participate in the National Festival of Honey and Bee Products "Season Three", which is being held in the capital, Sana'a, through its introductory and awareness pavilion. Sam Al-Bashiri, Executive Director General of the Authority, explained that the Authority's participation in the festival comes within the framework of the Authority's support for national products and upgrading their quality to enhance their competitiveness in the local and foreign markets. He pointed out that there is a specialized team to introduce the tasks and activities of the authority and the support services and technical advice it provides in the field of honey and raise awareness of the importance of obtaining the conformity mark that has been approved for honey, which means that the product conforms to the requirements of standard specifications and approved technical regulations. Al-Bashiri called on all traders, producers, manufacturers, and export ers of honey to go to the authority to obtain the conformity mark as a passport for their products in the local and foreign markets. He pointed out that the authority issued a guide to good manufacturing practices in honey packaging and production plants, which contained much information related to the production and manufacture of honey under the requirements of standard specifications and approved technical regulations, including the requirements of good manufacturing practice, health conditions for production facilities and factories and their employees, packaging methods and quality system, in addition to the requirements for storage, transportation, display, and export conditions. He pointed out that the guide will be distributed to honey traders at the festival, and participate in the accompanying events with a working paper on the importance of obtaining a mark of conformity.
