Young Leadership Talents Program Launched to Modernize Public Sector

Amman: The Institute of Public Administration launched the "Young Leadership Talents" fast-track training program on Sunday, in collaboration with the Management and Implementation Unit of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, supported by the United States Agency for International Development. Director General of the Institute, Siham Khawaldeh, stated that the program aligns with the executive initiatives of the public sector modernization roadmap in the human resources axis. It aims to prepare young future government leaders capable of driving the required changes, as outlined in the strategic plan for human resources (2023-2027) in the civil service, approved by the Cabinet in August. Khawaldeh emphasized that the program seeks to attract and develop young talents and leaders in the public sector who possess leadership qualities. It also aims to identify potential government talents early on to form the initial group of participants in the fast-track program. The program targeted 45 government depart ments under the public sector modernization roadmap plan and the economic modernization vision, with specific nomination criteria. To ensure proper governance, a steering committee was established to oversee the program, and a technical committee was formed to conduct personal interviews and evaluate participant projects, she added. The evaluation process for the program included several criteria: 233 electronic applications were received, 101 applicants underwent an intelligence test, and 74 applicants took a leadership skills test. Based on these results, she continued, 34 individuals were interviewed, and 26 participants were selected from 17 government departments, including 14 females and 12 males. This comprehensive training program covers key topics to achieve its objectives, such as introducing participants to national modernization plans and visions, strategic planning, future forecasting, institutional culture, and digital transformation.
