Regarding his visit to Tehran, Safadi explained that the Iranian Foreign Minister called him after the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, where he talked about what happened and invited him to visit Tehran, and that His Majesty King Abdullah II directed him to accept the invitation to learn about the Iranian point of view and see what can be done to prevent further destruction in the region, and that he held extensive talks with his Iranian counterpart and met the Iranian president, where he conveyed a message from the King regarding the efforts being made to protect the region from the catastrophic consequences of this escalation. Safadi said: "What we saw was that the Iranians were very angry about what happened and we said that we condemned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, which is a war crime and a violation of international law, and what we are saying now and what we in Jordan are putting forward is that we have to focus on the main cause of the escalation if we in the int ernational community can impose an end to the aggression on Gaza, reject the killing of innocent people, reject the escalation in Lebanon, and reject the escalation, creating a new dynamic with which there will be a reason for everyone who wants security and stability to say let's give this a chance and prevent more killing and destruction and save the Palestinians from the massacres to which they are subjected, and focus on stopping the aggression and if this is achieved, there are reasons for everyone to push towards achieving security and stability in the region.
