The major stock indices on the US Wall Street closed with gains at the end of today's trading sessions. The S and P 500 index rose by 50.59 points, or 0.89 percent, closing at 5,750.53 points. The Nasdaq Composite increased by 216.85 points, or 1.21 percent, reaching 18,135.33 points at the close.
