US National Education Association Votes to Ban Pro-Israel Curricula

Washington: The US National Education Association has taken a significant step by voting on a resolution to ban the teaching or use of curricula sourced from pro-Israel organizations. This decision was made during a recent conference where a substantial number of educators participated.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the conference saw the participation of 6,000 teachers, with the majority casting their votes in favor of the resolution. The outcome of the vote indicates a strong preference among educators to limit the influence of pro-Israel material in educational content.

The resolution, however, is not yet final. It will be referred to the Association's nine-member executive committee, which holds the authority to decide on its implementation. This step is crucial as it will determine whether the resolution will be enacted across educational institutions represented by the association.

This move by the US National Education Association is in line with its past actions. Last year, the Association joined a campaign aimed at halting all US military aid to Israel. This was in protest against what was described as genocide in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the association's ongoing stance on issues related to Israel.
