The US Central Command (USCENTCOM) said Thursday its forces successfully destroyed five Iranian-backed Houthi un-crewed surface vessels (USV) in the Red Sea in the past 24 hours. USCENTCOM forces also successfully destroyed two Houthi un-crewed aerial systems (UAS) over the Red Sea and one Houthi UAS in a Houthi controlled area of Yemen. It was determined these systems presented an imminent threat to US, coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region, according to a press release posted on the Command's X account. "These actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters more safe and secure," it added. Source: Kuwait News Agency
