Al-ram: Two Palestinian workers were shot by Israeli gunfire on Tuesday evening in the town of al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem. The incident occurred near the separation and expansion wall, where Israeli forces reportedly pursued several workers and opened fire.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews treated two young men who were shot with live ammunition. One of the injured, aged 28, was shot in the knee, while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh. The casualties were transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Since the beginning of this year, 15 Palestinian workers have been killed by Israeli forces, either shot during pursuits inside the 1948 territories or from falling off the separation wall, based on data from the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions.
In recent months, hundreds of workers have been arrested and abused by Israeli police on the pretext that they did not have permits. Since October 2023, the Federation has documented 42 worker fatalities and over 32,000 arrests among Palestinian workers.
