Umm al-jimal: Colonists began fencing off large areas of land in the Umm al-Jimal and al-Farisiya areas in the northern Jordan Valley on Tuesday, in preparation for seizing them. Local sources reported that colonists have been working since morning to fence off large areas of land in these areas.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the area of land fenced off by colonists is estimated at more than 1,200 dunams. The lands being fenced vary between agricultural and pastoral lands. Part of these lands is owned by citizens, while the other part is owned by the Latin Patriarchate.
The Umm al-Jimal community was forcibly displaced by colonists a year ago. Meanwhile, residents of Khirbet al-Farisiya face daily attacks by settlers seeking their forced displacement.
