Gaza city: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced today that famine in Gaza City can be halted.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA emphasized the urgent need for a substantial increase in aid delivery to Gaza through the United Nations, including their own agency. In a statement released on X, UNRWA conveyed the potential to reverse the ongoing crisis by significantly scaling up aid.
The agency highlighted that their warehouses in Jordan and Egypt are fully stocked. They confirmed the availability of sufficient food, medicines, and hygiene supplies to load 6,000 trucks, ready to be dispatched to Gaza.
UNRWA has called on Israel to facilitate the immediate entry of aid into Gaza, underscoring the critical need for cooperation to alleviate the dire humanitarian situation.
