UNRAW Warns of Humanitarian Operations Halt in Gaza Due to Fuel Blockade

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has raised alarms over a severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, citing Israel's prevention of fuel entry as a critical threat. The agency revealed that for over 100 days, Israel has blocked fuel access, putting humanitarian operations at risk of a complete shutdown.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, UNRWA announced via a post on X that the blockade is endangering essential sectors such as health, water, food, and communications within the besieged enclave. Since March 2, when Israel closed the crossings, Gaza has faced an escalating humanitarian catastrophe, with the entry of all supplies, including food, medicine, aid, and fuel, being prevented.

The UN agency has underscored the indispensability of fuel for conducting humanitarian operations, warning that its absence could result in loss of lives. UNRWA has called for an urgent lifting of the Israeli blockade to avert further deterioration of the situation in Gaza.
