Gaza: A United Nations commission of inquiry concluded on Tuesday that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and that senior Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, incited these actions.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the commission cited examples including the scale of the killings, the obstruction of aid, forced displacement, and the destruction of a fertility center to support its findings of genocide. The commission's conclusion aligns with those of human rights groups and other organizations that have reached similar determinations.
Navi Pillay, chair of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and former judge of the International Criminal Court, stated, 'Genocide is taking place in Gaza.' Pillay emphasized that the responsibility for these crimes lies with the highest levels of Israeli authorities, who have allegedly conducted a campaign of genocide with the specific goal of eliminating Palestinians in Gaza over the past two years.
