Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates reported on Sunday that four individuals lost their lives and 112 others sustained injuries due to Iranian attacks on its territory since the previous week. The country's Defense Ministry confirmed the incidents, providing details on the nature of the attacks and the defensive measures undertaken.
According to Anadolu Agency, the UAE's Defense Ministry stated that on Sunday alone, 17 ballistic missiles and 117 drones originating from Iran were detected. The UAE's air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed 16 of these missiles and 113 drones. Additionally, one missile ended up falling into the sea, while four drones managed to penetrate the UAE's territory.
The ministry further disclosed that, since February 28, a total of 238 ballistic missiles have been launched from Iran. Out of these, 221 were intercepted and destroyed, 15 fell into the sea, and two landed on UAE soil. In addition, eight cruise missiles were detected and neutralized.
The report also highlighted that 1,422 Iranian drones were fired during the same period, with 1,342 being intercepted and 80 falling within the UAE. The ministry emphasized that the UAE is fully prepared to address any threats and will respond decisively to any attempts to compromise the nation's security.
The UAE, along with other Gulf countries, has been the target of Iranian missile and drone attacks since February 28, which followed joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Iranian reports indicate that more than 1,200 people, including Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, have been killed, and over 10,000 others injured in the US-Israeli offensive.
