Two Palestinians killed by Israeli gunfire following a shooting attack in occupied Jerusalem

Two Palestinian siblings were killed this morning by Israeli gunfire northwest of occupied Jerusalem following an alleged armed attack, according to sources. Israeli reports said soldiers opened fire on two Palestinians after a shooting attack at settlers at a bus station in the illegal colony of Ramot, killing three and wounding seven others, five of them said to be critical. The two were identified as Murad Nimr, 38, a former prisoner who spent seven years in Israeli jails for resisting the occupation, and his brother, Ibrahim Nimr, 30, from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sur Baher, south of the city. A large Israeli occupation police force raided the neighborhood, broke into the siblings' homes, and detained members of their families for questioning. Immediately after the shooting, the occupation police closed a number of entrances to the occupied city of Jerusalem, including the major Qalandia checkpoint, north of the city, and prevented people from passing. The occupation forces also tightened military measures at the Jaba checkpoint, northeast of Jerusalem, at the entrance to the town of Hizma, and the entrance to the town of al-Ezariya, east of Jerusalem, in addition to closing the entrance to Sur Baher.
