Two militants were killed in an operation conducted by Pakistani security forces at a site in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest Pakistan. The Pakistan Army's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department reported today that security forces killed two militants during an intelligence-based operation in the South Waziristan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting intense exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and militants. It was noted that weapons, along with a significant quantity of explosives, were seized from the militants. The security forces had earlier killed two militants last Sunday during an exchange of fire with an armed group in South Waziristan. The Pakistani Army and security forces continue to pursue armed groups that have carried out suicide bombings and ambushes against law enforcement over the past years in the north of the country.
