The Martyrs Foundation in Wasit announced the discovery of two mass graves on Dujaili River near the step of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) on the outskirts of the city of Kut.
The director of the Foundation, Hassan Ali Al-Kalabi, told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the first cemetery belongs to the victims of the former regime between the years 1980 and 1990 and contains the remains of 10 martyrs, while the second cemetery belongs to the victims of sectarian fighting between the years 2005 and 2008 and contains the remains of 40 martyrs.
