Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev discussed the massacres committed by Israel against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the reconstruction activities of the Azerbaijani regions liberated from Armenian control, and regional and international issues. Erdogan stressed during his meeting today, Monday, at the Turkish Presidential Complex in the capital Ankara, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidency, that the genocide committed by Israel in the Palestinian territories, especially in Gaza, is ongoing, and that Israel threatens regional and international security with these crimes alike. The Turkish president stressed during the meeting that the permanent solution in the Middle East is the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Quds as its capital, and that the international community must pressure Israel to do so. The Communications Department explained in its statement that Erdogan also stressed during the meeting that Turkey is following the process of the Russian peacekeeping force leaving the Karabakh region, and that it appreciates the activities of rebuilding and reviving the Azerbaijani lands liberated from the previous Armenian occupation. Erdogan expressed his gratitude to Aliyev for inviting him to attend the climate summit to be held in Azerbaijan in November, stressing that Turkey will provide all kinds of support to Azerbaijan during the preparation phase for the summit.
