Tulkarm: Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil stated that the Israeli occupation forces' decision to extend their assault on Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps until July 31, 2026, constitutes a further escalation of violations against citizens and perpetuates the suffering of thousands of families who have been forcibly displaced.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Kamil emphasized that the demolition of homes and commercial facilities, the destruction of infrastructure, and ongoing acts of vandalism inside the camps reflect a systematic policy targeting the Palestinian people. The continuation of aggression and closures imposed on the camps deprive residents of their basic rights, further exacerbating the hardship of displaced families under the prevailing conditions in the governorate.
Kamil renewed his call on international organizations, as well as humanitarian and human rights bodies, to urgently intervene to halt the assault and violations committed against Palestinians. He stressed that the ongoing measures against Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps are intensifying the suffering of residents who are facing severe humanitarian and economic conditions due to forced displacement.
He further noted that the impact of these measures extends across Tulkarm governorate, adversely affecting citizens' lives, freedom of movement, and economic activity, amid extensive damage to homes, property, and infrastructure. The governor emphasized the need for the international community to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities toward the Palestinian people, ensure their protection, and put an end to collective punishment policies and ongoing violations against civilians and their property.
